- Jossed. Charles hatched from one of the eggs found underground.
- Jossed. Whatever hatched out of Charles's egg merged with a mining company's train.
- Apparently confirmed indirectly: Charles got his name by scurrying in to a company train (with the family and company name "Charles" printed on the side) and "wearing" it. Since the Company is named after the Charles Dynasty, Charles was indirectly named after Warren's family.
Check this out. TLDR: he really was in the island for gold because his family was on the verge of bankruptcy. When he was talking about killing anyone who shouldn't be near the eggs, he wasn't talking about thieves, but the spiders that would hatch. The reason he doesn't destroy them as eggs was because that would provoke Charles, and he can't afford that. In fact, after Charles first manifested and broke loose, he's even started evacuating people, at least according to some of the notes. And the reason the island is a Closed Circle is because he didn't want to add more victims or escalate the situation... which the Player Character ends up doing. Thank goodness we had what it took to actually destroy Charles, am I right?
We'll play as the Archivist (either that or their colleague) and we'll have to bring Charles' body for taxidermy back to the City. While riding the bus, the Archivist suddenly meets Gus the Bus trailing behind; Thankfully, he didn't come back to the City unprepared. taking out a handheld, old fashioned gatling gun, it is up to the Archivist to slay Gus the Bus and take his body for taxidermy too.
