WMG / American Vampire

Go To

Skinner Sweet is an ancestor to Judge Dredd's enemies, the Angel Gang.
  • The theory makes sense. Skinner, in his pre-vampiric days, would have fit right in with the Angels, and even post-vampiric, he and they would have got along splendidly—-the Angels would have had no problem with his vampirism, not after all the mutations and monsters they'd seen in the Cursed Earth. Sweet isn't the sort to keep it in his pants, so little Sweets might have been running around to reproduce...and his stomping grounds would become the Angels' home after the rise of the Mega-Cities.

Skinner and Hattie are going to end up as a couple, at least for a while
  • Hattie's becoming worse every day...and her approach to things would not faze Skinner one bit.
  • He'll never forgive her for allying with the Euro-Vamps, though.

Some of the vampire sub-species borrow characteristics from animals.
The Gaelic-Prime vampire, whose battle-form resembles a bat monster complete with wings, is classed as a 'Chiroptera' by the Vassals of the Morning Star. All the American vampires have extra-long rattlesnake fangs, and seem to be able to unlock their jaws at will, like most species of snake.
  • Remember where the characters grew up. That Gaelic-Prime lived in Ireland, and the first American Vampire lived in the old west.
    • But, a good chunk of American immigrants are Irish, The "American" vampire breed seems to be a combination of the Gaelic-Prime breed and the Native American breed, watered down, as they can't do a full body transformation like the actual first American Vampire Mimiteh. Maybe Skinner had Native American blood in him?

The series takes place in the past of the New World of Darkness
The way a new vampire bloodline is formed, accidentally by a powerful vampire, is slightly too similar to how a bloodline is created in a certain Vampire game. The carpathian vampires will win the war of the various bloodlines and wipe them from history, forgetting they ever existed. The few surviving members of the bloodline war live on as the few non-kindred vampires in the splatbooks.

Nothing can kill the American Vampires, not even gold.
  • This theory makes sense, when you look at what they have been through. Hattie and Skinner have both suffered lethal wounds by gold objects, both went into a near-death state, especially for an extended amount of time. Yet both recovered, after the gold was removed. Gold can seriously hurt them, but it does not permanently kill them. More likely it suppressed their vampiric aspects for a time. When Skinner became human again, he was on a gold I.V., and endured intense physical heat reentering the atmosphere. The gold in his system from the I.V. might have been branded into his system so deeply, that it permanently suppressed his vampire aspect. That might be why he can't become a vampire again by blood infusions anymore, he still is a vampire, albiet, just barely, he just had his powers permanently sealed. This might also be why the Beast wanted to infect him as a new host/minion, the American Vampires are truly indestructible, and unkillable.

Carpathians were never really evil.
  • It was Dracula through and through, the VMS simply underestimated how strong his influence was, even mostly dead, he was directing them, hence why Carpathians still had their hatred for other races, once Dracula was dead and Travis became the new "Dracula" they were free of the influence, Travis is even shown in the epilogue as a member of the VMS, not being evil.
