- In Ash's New Look, Team Rocket are working honestly at first. But when they spotted Ash, they went back to their old ways.
- The Bridge (MLP): Taken literally, with a case of Evil Versus Evil. The human transformed Monster X is after the Siren's necklaces, ambushing Aria Blaze and Sonata Dusk while the two are out shopping at the town mall.
- In Celestia's Rocket Adventures, Twilight Sparkle wonders aloud what sort of horrible things Team Rocket could be doing to Celestia, only for the scene to cut to them making s'mores for their Pokemon.
- Dave Stdider Pokemon Traner actually has a chapter called "Team Bad Goes Shopping" in which Team Bad's Jack and Karkat end up going to the mall and fighting Jake England over a laser weapon they find in the "Evil Section". The kicker? None of them actually had enough money to afford it in the first place.
- In Harry Potter And The Invincible Technomage, Doctor Doom is first met coming to watch the Triwizard Tournament, so that he can ensure his godson and namesake - Viktor Krum, that is - has the game going fair for him.
- Hive Daughter: After Taylor installs internet access in the Birdcage, most of the inmates use their allotted time to do things like look up old friends and family, check sports scores, and other equally mundane things. This helps keep the PRT from trying to disable the connection (not that they can) due to the serious public pushback against it.
- In Little Black Death Note Kira hasn't been killing many criminals lately seeing he's been too busy grading term papers after becoming the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts.
- Mythos Effect: The first glimpse at the Batarian government shows that their meetings and politicians are basically the same as any other government's, minus the fact they have a minister devoted to handling matters pertaining to slavery. Rather than wearing spikes, leather, and eyepatches while cackling about enslaving others, they wear tailored suits and discuss how the economy is going.
- In Neither a Bird nor a Plane, it's Deku!, Izuku runs into a hulking man with a plague mask while attending the U.A. Culture Festival in the months leading up to the U.A. Entrance Exam. The two end up getting into a one-sided argument over a Lord Beebo doll, which ends with Izuku breaking a punching machine and dislocating the man's shoulder after putting too much force into their arm wrestle. Izuku then decides to just hand him the Beebo doll (and wanted to from the beginning of their argument). The man (who could easily reset his shoulder with his Quirk) professes his respect for Izuku's strength and tells him to come back for a proper fight when he gets older. Izuku later learns that this man was Kendo Rappa, a member of the Yakuza working as part of the Eight Expendables of the Eight Precepts of Death under the Hasigawa family.
- In Oogway's Little Owl Taotie, in between creating weapons to attack the Jade Palace, still periodically goes shopping for parts and groceries in the Valley of Peace where he winds up making conversation with Taylor and later Shifu.
- In "Thanos, Darkseid and Dr. Doom – Carpool Buddies", the three villains bicker over tv shows and coffee recipes while carpooling.
- In Thinking In Little Green Boxes Kang the Conqueror shows up just to watch the Tri-Wizard Tournament.
- A plot-relevant example in Vigil: when Garrus is trying to track down Paxton Fettel, he guesses that, having spent his entire life in a tightly controlled lab environment, which likely includes a tightly controlled diet... he just watches the local food courts and spots Fettel eating a bunch of cheeseburgers.
- In the Sailor Moon/Cutey Honey crossover Venus Flash, the tentacle youma Electricus reveals that this is the secret of his power: he uses his abilities to pimp himself out, getting lots of energy that he keeps from himself and making money out of it.
- Persona: HEAVEN (Afreaknamedpete): Hiyori ends up meeting Sugou sitting down and playing a mobage while waiting for his boss to get out of a meeting.
- Jewel of Darkness:
- Midnight enjoys competing in semi-legal street races when she's not busy running her company or plotting against the Titans.
- At the end of the first arc, the Titans track down Guerra for any information he might have on where Midnight took the abducted Robin, and find him eating in a dive bar. Since his contract with Midnight is up and he has no grudge against them otherwise (except for Cyborg), he tells them what little he knows, wishes them luck, and goes back to his dinner.
- In Forty Seconds Mikami has to run to the store to buy his God some consomme-flavored potato chips.
- In All You Need Is Love there's an almost domestic scene at Naomi's house where Light and Duck are ignoring each other in the living room:Naomi: I'm leaving, I'll be back later. Take care of yourselves and try not to destroy any furniture in your petty battles for world domination.
Light: My goal is not world domination.
Naomi: Light, you said you'd be god of the new world. What do you call that?
Light: A new era of enlightenment.
Duck: To save face and not sound like a jackass I'll be frank, my goal is world domination.
Naomi: Whatever. Try not to get any blood on the carpet. - In the Crack Fic A Charmed Life after Kira disappears L is all worked up trying to find him, wondering what nefarious game he could possibly be playing with him now. Light has in fact taken up apple farming (admittedly, to bribe his way through shinigami politics).
- In Constant Temptation when not purging the world of evil, Kira enjoys teaching math to young genii and playing harmless S&M Bondage games with his life-partner.
- In A Cure for Love while the taskforce is wondering how they could possibly get by Kira's defenses Light and Mikami go out for lunch together.
- In Ugly when not killing criminals Misa watches anime and Light courts his Arch-Nemesis.
- Death Note: The Abridged Series (kpts4tv) has a rather literal example in their first music video:
- Abraxas (Hrodvitnon): Tejada, a Mauve Shirt among Alan Jonah's mercs, spends her downtime playing cards with an unnamed Mook Lieutenant with whom she has a Villainous Friendship, and she invites Mariko to join them.
- Amicus Protectio Fortis:Remus: Death Eaters could be anywhere.
Harry: I can tell you where they are. There's two across the street - wait, one now. He's shopping for a new pair of gloves, he is. There's two in Gringotts, three shopping up the alley, and eight in Knockturn. - In Christmas Celebrations Voldemort is out Christmas shopping when Dumbledore confronts him.
- This is the very point of the story The Death Eaters' Disney World Trip — the Death Eaters taking a trip to Disney World on Voldemort's orders. It also features Voldemort enjoying listening to Britney Spears, Draco Malfoy being "addicted" to The Twilight Saga, Bellatrix regarding Taco Bell as sacred, and many Death Eaters being Pokémon fans.
- In Harry Potter and the Breeding Darkness Dumbledore runs into Voldemort and his mysterious new Dragon / boyfriend literally out shopping together on a daytrip to Little Hangleton.
- In Lord of Caer Azkaban Voldemort is irritated when one of his minions interrupts his quiet game of solitaire.
- In A Snake Named Voldemort, Voldemort gets turned into a snake when Snape puts a potion in his tea. Harry can't believe that Voldemort drinks tea.
- Queen of All Oni: Jade is often shown doing various non-villainous things when she's not busy fighting for the masks and tablets, such as video games and (on Halloween, obviously) trick-or-treating. She's also shown to take advantage of new developments for fun, such as pitting her tribe of Shadowkhan against Ratso's in a baseball game, or using her new contortionist skills to cheat at bets with the Enforcers. Hell, she'll sometimes even find ways to have fun during her schemes, like the time she and the Enforcers raided a food stand at an amusement park she was attacking.
- Queen of Shadows: In his second scene in the new reality, Shendu is shown relaxing in a bath, reflecting on enjoying the simple joys in life.
- In Jade Dragon, Jade alleviates the boredom of being trapped in stone by having the Shadowkhan bring her a TV to watch.
- Jackie Chan Adventures: Olympian Journey:
- At one point, the Agents of Chaos go out drinking together.
- The mercenaries guild that Vanessa and Hak Foo are both part of apparently holds an annual gala.
- Before it was deleted from Pixiv, there was a very silly doujinshi in which Dio Brando, Kars, Kira, and Diavolo go to a Disney Theme Park.
- There's also "Villain House," a subgenre of fan works where all the villains live in Kira's house and Black Comedy and Slice of Life ensue. Typically, Kira is the Only Sane Man. Expect Diavolo to die in a comedic manner on a regular basis, often so Dio and Kars can feed on him. This album contains a number of examples. Now in animatic form, parodying the Full House intro.
- Kingdom Hearts: The Antipode:
- One Side Story indicates that the Organization regularly has games nights where they play poker amongst themselves.
- Played for Laughs during the fourth installment's Arendelle Arc. Xigbar gets bored and leaves to watch his favourite TV show, much to Young Xehanort's chagrin.
- a million miles of fun: The Red Lotus stop at an all-night diner between the Si Wong Desert and Ba Sing Se. The work proposes that the Avatarverse has (bad) chain restaurants, spirits try to scam business owners, Ming-Hua gets giggly when sleep-deprived, Ghazan is prone to Too Much Information, P'Li eats more than the other three put together, and Zaheer is that guy who's always indecisive about what to order.
- Fan art of all the (human; sorry, Vaatu) villains hanging out at a party.
- In Devil's Diary, Magneto spends the better part of his one-week-long reconnaisance trip sightseeing New York City.
- Antithesis: Two Sides Of A Coin: Literally in Chapter 22, in which Izuku -who is a villain in his story- goes out grocery shopping, even getting a talk with Shoto.
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
- Night's Favored Child: Nightmare Moon and The Inquisitor are shown in several scenes simply relaxing, usually over a nice cup of tea. The Inquisitor has also been shown to have a number of hobbies, including listening to music and reading.
- The Pony POV Series:
- A Running Gag in the Dark World Series is someone wondering what Discord's doing or he'll be back soon... only for it to cut to him having a night out with Fluttercruel with a surprising lack of torture and maiming. The two instances that most fit this trope are cutting to him and her playing video games at an arcade and them skiing. All in all, he only does one genuinely evil thing the entire time.
- "Nightmare House". It takes place before (or possibly during) the main Dark World story and depicts Nightmare Eclipse/Paradox and her Psycho Rangers merely talking at their house between Paradox's interventions in Dark World. They simply hang out. Though it's a somewhat dark in that the focus is more or less on them trying to play the part of their old lives but being unable to due to what they've become.
- In Nareto: The Scret of Shiobi, Danzo and Darkeye go to a movie together, despite being constantly stated to be really, really evil. However, the movie is called "How to Take Over the World".
- If the story involves the Akatsuki being turned into cats and sent to our world, this is the most likely thing that will happen after they are turned back into humans. Some involve Hidan sneaking into the Victoria's Secret store.
- Rise of the Minisukas: As talking to her shrink, Rei states her nemesis is undoubtedly planning her next move. Meanwhile, Prankster is trying to make her way back to Tokyo-3 after wandering through the woods for days.
- Rosario Vampire: Brightest Darkness Act III: Kiria Yoshii may be a crazed, Nazi-esque terrorist, but he still enjoys reading manga. According to Hokuto, his plan to Time Travel for Fun and Profit and remake history in his image was gotten from manga.
- The entire premise of This Fierce Machine is about Captain Phasma dealing with the convoluted bureaucracy of the First Order's administration. Even evil minions of The Empire must face mundane office politics, apparently.
- Spontaneous Earth: Address is about the Constructicons, a group of Decepticons with the ability to form a Combining Mecha, attending an outdoor book reading hosted by the Vancouver Public Library. One staff member is concerned that their presence will lead to "giant robot mayhem"; another employee states that the Constructicons are well-behaved, stay in vehicle mode while attending the event, and overall are content to listen to people read children's books about vehicles aloud for a few hours.
- In one chapter of Shadowchasers: Power Primordial, the Paragons pass the time playing poker; Menzoberra wins, causing Rary to comment that wearing veils shouldn't be allowed in games where bluffs are used.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series
- Marik Plays Bloodlines is a miniseries of this, spinning off from Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series. Yugi's mortal (if rather kooky) enemy is apparently taking time off at some unspecified point to LP Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, complete with fellow villain Bakura snarking at him in the background.
- Also from Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged, the sequence after Joey is left in a coma from his duel with Melvin has Yami wondering what evil scheme he will cut to next. We cut to Melvin, who is staring at himself in a window reflection and commenting 'Would you f**k me? I'd f**k me. I'd f**k me hard.'
- A recurring element in Yu-Gi-Oh: Tilting the Balance is the main villains, Degas and Alexander, doing various non-evil things while carrying out their plans. Examples include having breakfast (Degas notes they're out of Cheerios), playing shiratori, and playing Clue with Alexander's girlfriend and one of their minions.
