Wings of Ge.ne.sis is the sequel to the browser game Ge.ne.sis, retaining the same world, main characters and mythology, but it can't be more different from its predecessor. First of all, whereas Ge.ne.sis. was a Turn-Based Strategy game with RPG elements added, this one is a Horizontal Scrolling Shooter with RPG elements. You can play it here, and it also has a guide.

The game provides the following tropes:

  • Big Bad: Gen. Though the ending makes it look like Gelyan is The Man Behind the Man.
  • Boss Rush: The Infinity Space.
  • Bubble Gun: One of Aquarius' attacks. Also, the Cannon Turtle enemies sprout a literal bubble-shooting cannon from their mouths.
  • Girl with Psycho Weapon: Sisily wields a huge Carrot Rocket launcher.
  • Guide Dang It!: Averted since the creator of the game made the official strategy guide, mainly for the purpose of choosing the next evolution of the Spirit Beasts.
  • HP to One: Zodiac Memory can do this to you.
  • Idiosyncratic Difficulty Levels: Pleasant Dream, Lucid Dream and Nightmare.
  • Incendiary Exponent: Aries turns into a big ball of fire, an attack that can be easily avoided.
  • Item Crafting: Esis from the first game is your shopkeeper and will help you craft items with the stones and random drops you picked along the way.
  • New Game Plus: You can carry over items and get extra attribute points after beating the game (and move onto the next level of difficulty), though levels, attribute points, and Spirit Beast is reset.
  • Non-Indicative Name: The Azure and Crimson Stones are represented in-game as white and black stones.
  • Number of the Beast: You need 666 Azure Stones along with other items to have the "Grim Reaper" artifact created in the shop.
  • Randomly Drops: Defeated enemies have a chance to drop some items that can be used in the shop with the Azure and Crimson Stones to conjure some magical equipment for our characters.
  • Scary Scorpions: Scorpio.
  • Spread Shot: Neraine's "Crystal Dust" is a Spray Burst, Gelyan's "Judgement Bolt" is an Exploding Shot, while Sisily's "Carrot Rockets" are of the standard burst variety.
  • Stationary Boss: Taurus. He attacks by spewing poisonous saliva, shooting giant flowers and making enormous plants sprout from the ground.
  • Status Effects: Poison (your health slowly but constantly decreases), Frozen (you are stuck in place for a while), Silence (communications with the Spirit Beasts is disabled, so they can't use their attacks) and Disable (you cannot use your normal attacks). The thing is, the Poison effect can stack on one another, leading to great damage.
  • Western Zodiac: The Zodiac motif is used in place of the Tarot Motifs of the first game. Three signs (Gemini, Sagittarius and Capricorn) are not represented, though, possibly intentionally: Gemini is Nera (note her Gemini rifles), Sagittarius is Gelyan (bow weapon), and Capricorn is Sisily (sheer randomness).
  • Winged Humanoid: The Tengu enemies, birdmen armed with giant blades.
