The Wanderer: Frankenstein's Creature is an indie adventure game developed by La Belle Games, Hidden Trap, and ARTE France in 2019.

Based on Frankenstein, the story is told from the perspective of the titular Creature himself, the players interact with the world as the Creature tells the story where they decide what actions and words he uses to move the tale along. Every choice made determines how the story of the Frankenstein monster concludes.

The game is available on the Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and Android.

The Wanderer discovered these examples:

  • Blind and the Beast: In one chapter, the Creature attempts to befriend the blind man living with his family. Unfortunately, the rest of the family isn't very receptive to him.
  • First-Person Peripheral Narrator: While the player controls the Creature's movements, actions and choices, the narration itself is spoken from the perspective of the Creature.
  • Frankenstein Monster: The protagonist of the game.
  • Gratuitous Latin: The beginning of each chapter is titled in Latin.
  • Multiple Endings: How the game - and the story as a whole - ends depends on the choices the monster makes.
    • Silentium - The Creature accepts his fate of being alone, seeing he could never attain the love he so desperately craved.
    • Mortem: Vindicta - The Creature chooses to give in his hatred of humanity and avenge himself, not caring whether he would leave a trail of corpses in his wake or the inevitability of being killed himself.
    • Creator - The Creature journeys to an isolated cabin to find his creator - only to find himself face to face with Mary Shelley, the author who created him and Victor Frankenstein from her own imagination.
    • Alium (Black) - The Creature uses Victor's research documents to create a female monster to be a companion. However, she doesn't reciprocate his desires and attacks him, sending both of them plummeting to their deaths.
    • Alium (White) - The Creature uses Victor's research documents to create a female monster to be a companion. However, she doesn't reciprocate him and attacks him, causing him to kill her, leaving him alone again.
  • Torches and Pitchforks: The Creature experiences this when he first entered a village as the residents react badly to him.
  • Would Hurt a Child: One of the possible consequences should the Creature choose to act violently is to harm a child.
