The Prestige Rectangle is an Idle Game made in The Modding Tree by gapples2 and released in 2021. It has four layers from L1 to L4 that represent corners of a rectangle. Once you have enough points, you can reset for L1 points, which can be reset for L2 points, and so on. Each layer has several upgrades to purchase for its respective points and there are even some additional ones inside the rectangle.

The game is playable here.

This game provides examples of:

  • Achievement System: There are 28 achievements. Most of them are earned by progressing through the game, though some require you to reach 1.8e308 points in The Challenge with only specific upgrades enabled.
  • Anti-Frustration Features: Grindless mode autobuys upgrades, triples currency gain from each layer, and keeps L4 upgrades on Middle reset. As the name indicates, it's meant to help players who believe the game is too grindy.
  • Cap: The Challenge settings would allow you to get 329.27 downgrade points at most.
  • Challenge Run:
    • The Middle/Corner layer has a challenge called The Prestige Triangle that tasks you with reaching a certain number of points while disabling passive generation and L1, but also changing L2 to require points and having other tweaks.
    • The Challenge in the Lines layer requires you to set a point goal, a number of allowed The Prestige Triangle completions, and a fractional point exponent, and disable some upgrades. Reaching the point goal grants Downgrade Points based on all the previously mentioned factors that unlock milestones and eventually produce downgrade energy.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each layer (or set of them in the case of L1 to L4) has its own color.
    • L1, L2, L3, L4: Green
    • Middle/Corner: Yellow
    • Lines: Orange
  • Export Save: You can press a button to export the 6KB+ savefile and another to import it.
  • Trial-and-Error Gameplay: The Challenge requires a ton of experimentation to find a beatable setup that increases your downgrade points. Sometimes it's gonna take some grinding for points in the challenge proper, while other times you may need to increase lines to improve Point Boosters+ or just be unable to do it.
