Steep is an open-world extreme sports video game created by Ubisoft and released on December 2, 2016. The game is set in the Swiss Alps where the player, in an open-world environment, is able to participate in a few verities of extreme winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, as well as paragliding and wingsuit flying. DLC packs released let on added the ability to participate in jetpack flying, BASE jumping, speed riding, and sledding, as well as adding mountains in Alaska, Japan, and South Korea.

Tropes featured in the game:

  • Jet Pack: The 2018 DLC introduced the ability to use jetpacks to participate in BASE jumping and simply just flying.
  • Our Lawyers Advised This Trope: The game boots to a message warning the player not to try any of the in-game stunts in real life.
  • Product Placement: The game features real-life brands of winter sporting equipment as well as real-life product logos being featured on the characters' uniforms. The player can also participate in sport events, both in the base game and DLC, that revolves around the real-life brands as a sponsor and real world sporting events.
  • Slippy-Slidey Ice World: Being that it's a game set around winter sports and set mainly in the Swiss Alps, it is given that it would take place in an icy world.
  • Wide-Open Sandbox: The game's world is fully open and players can roam it freely as they play in each sport.
  • Yodel Land: The game's first setting was the Swiss Alps.
