Bring all the world's oceans to the comfort of your PC.
Sailaway - the Sailing Simulator is a boating simulation game developed and published by Orbcreation for Steam and released on February 27, 2018.

The game is a casual sailing simulator that uses real-life image processing to map all the world's oceans in real-life scale. The player can take to the water in several real-life models of sailboats and do everything from casually sail to holding online or local sail races.

The game stands out because of its true-to-life factor of realism. The player uses real-life boats and changing the types of sails and other accessories changes how the boat handles in the water. The player also has to deal with real-life and real-time weather as well as climate in different parts of the ocean.

Sailaway provides examples of:

  • In-Universe Game Clock: In addition to using your PC's clock to set the time of day, the game also uses data from the Internet to create storms and weather conditions in the water at time they are occurring in real-life as well.
  • Product Placement: The sailboats and accessories in the game are all real-life models and equipment.
  • Unexpectedly Realistic Gameplay: The game is very realistic in gameplay. For example, sailing the Pacific takes months of in-game play.
  • Wide-Open Sandbox: The entire volume of oceans on Earth, in fact.
