Resident Evil Degeneration
Resident Evil: Degeneration is a 2008 mobile phone and smartphone game. Originally made by Ideaworks 3 D and Capcom for the Nokia N-Gage, they would later release an iOS version in May 2009, followed by Beeline Interactive's own BlackBerry version. The game is loosely based on the 2008 film, Resident Evil: Degeneration. The game follows the over-the-shoulder Third Person camera style of Resident Evil 4, along with quick action segments similar to the previously mentioned. There are many similarities to Resident Evil 4 along the way such as its use of a gun merchant; the breaking of items to obtain treasure and items, and the ability to jump through/over items such as windows and ledges.

Resident Evil Degeneration provides the following examples of the following tropes:

  • Call-Back: You fight 3 tyrants in the game(from Resident Evil, Code Veronica and Resident Evil 2), the boss arena itself is similar to where they were originally encountered.
  • Elite Mook: There are many variants of zombies: zombies with body armor, and zombies with gas tank on their back(which the player has to think twice before firing as they can blow up the tank and get caught in the explosion)
  • Mission-Pack Sequel: This game adopted everything from Resident Evil 4(There is merchant, Quick-Time Events, Roundhouse kicks... even you can shoot down crows for money)
  • History Repeats: This game was intended to be N-Gage Exclusive before Capcom ported it to iPhone. this isn't the first time
  • Multi-Mook Melee: There's a level where you must kill zombies that come at you
  • Rule of Cool: Leon in every scene reload his handgun just before heading for his objective
    • The beginning scene had Leon landing from above then reloading his hangun
  • Thrown Out the Airlock: The only way to dispose of the final tyrant is to activate the switch to bring the plane jet engine and activate it so it sucks the tyrant in
  • Your Princess Is in Another Castle!: Many examples
    • After Leon access the VIP room(where the survivors are), a soldier comes in and needs medical attention so Leon have to go to infirmary to obtain first-aid kit
    • As Leon disable the infected plane by disabling the auto-pilot system, Hunnigan tells him there's too many infected planes and the only way to shut them down is to disable the control tower
