Power Rangers Rocket Storm is a flash game (Macromedia Flash Player 7) which came with the Power Rangers Generations DVD, a free gift attached to the 16th issue of the UK Jetix Magazine.

A basic Shoot 'Em Up, the player controls a generic team of Power Rangers who fire rockets at their enemies. The difficulties are Easy, Medium and Hard, starting the player with an initial group of four, five, and six Rangers respectively, with additional Rangers provided by a power-up.

Tropes

  • Color-Coded Characters: Well, this is Power Rangers.
  • Law of Chromatic Superiority: The eighth Ranger to appear is a second Red Ranger.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: How these Rangers deal with their enemies.
  • Mythology Gag: Concerning the colors of the Ranger.
    • The help screen features a Ranger Power Trio of Red, Blue and Yellow, as in Power Rangers Ninja Storm note
    • Playing on Hard starts you with four Rangers, with Pink joining the aforementioned trio. This reflects Pink's near continuous presence in the franchise before Black and Green, which are commonly used interchangably.
    • The fifth Ranger is Black, reflecting the popular Five-Man Band line-up from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.
    • The sixth Ranger is Green, again a nod to Mighty Morphin.
    • The seventh Ranger is colored silver, a recurring color for Sixth/Extra Rangers on-screen, with a target lock colored white, reflecting the original White Ranger, which was the seventh distinct Ranger form introduced for Mighty Morphin while acting as a replacement form for the Green Sixth Ranger.
    • The eighth Ranger appears as a Red Ranger with yellow accents, reflecting the dominance of Red Rangers in upgrades as well as the Quantum Ranger.
  • Palette Swap: All Rangers are the same sprite but in different colours. Likewise, the enemies come in three different colour combinations.
  • Power Trio: Invoked on the help screen.
  • Primary-Color Champion: Invoked on the help screen.
  • Shout-Out: The enemies appear not too disimilar to Kamen Riders.
  • Sixth Ranger: Making contact with Power Rangers bolts summon "Extra Rangers" to your party. The literal sixth Ranger to appear is colored green, as the original was.
