Bruce "Brucie" Lyne and Jadrienne "Jade" Lee are a pair of exorcists-for-hire who are underpaid and starving. When Lucia "Lucy" White gives them food, they repay her generosity by offering to solve the mystery of an evil spirit targeting her friends. Unfortunately, neither Lucy or the spirit are what they initially seem.
This is the namesake game of the Physical Exorcism Series.

- All of Black's victims turn out to be terrible people, who all get targeted after he comes back as an evil spirit. Blaze and Moss often harass him for his feminine appearance while Sapphire fakes a love confession text from Lucy in order to humiliate Black in class.
- In the bad ending, Brucie pushes Lucy off the roof in retaliation for her role as the ringleader of the Gang of Bullies.
- Cast from Sanity: SAN is the game's equivalent of MP for using skills, but if it drops to 0, the character will become insane and uncontrollable. Ectoplasm can be consumed to restore sanity.
- Draw Aggro: Jade has the skill, Telepathic Taunt, which makes her more likely to be targeted by enemies.
- Ectoplasm: Brucie can use ectoplasm to manifest spirits, allowing him to attack them.
- If You Kill Him, You Will Be Just Like Him!: Brucie claims that killing Lucy would just validate her belief that the strong abuse the weak.
- Intangibility: Evil spirits are this, so cannot be physical attacked. Brucie can No-Sell this by using ectoplasm to cause them to manifest.
- Non-Standard Game Over: After beating the Final Boss, it's possible to walk off the school roof and die from falling.
- "Number of Objects" Title: The first game of the Physical Exorcism Series, which focus around exorcism cases, and this is Case 01.
- Perpetual Poverty: Brucie and Jade often get screwed by their clients and cannot make enough to get by, to the point where they're homeless.
- School Bullying Is Harmless: Deconstructed. Not only is Black Driven to Suicide because of school bullies, the school does little to stop the bullies. One teacher, Mr. Lee, tried to tell himself that because he personally survived bullying, Black should be able to do so as well, only to be proven wrong. According to Lucy, school bullying is a microsm of the dog-eat-dog tendencies of society.
