Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx is an adventure game developed by Magic Pockets and produced by Gamemill Entertainment, released on October 25th, 2022 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It is the first console game based on Miraculous Ladybug, followed by Miraculous: Paris Under Siege released in 2024.
While facing down Mr. Pigeon 68, who has been akumatized yet again after the Mayor's newest proposal to combat Paris' pigeon problem, Ladybug and Cat Noir come across strange orbs scattered around Paris. Meanwhile, someone is impersonating Marinette and her friends, causing havoc and misunderstandings across the city.
This game includes the following tropes:
- Acceptable Breaks from Reality: In the show, Adrien has a cripplingly tight schedule that prevents him from wandering around Paris. This would be pretty boring in a game, however, so Take Your Time is in full effect here.
- Arbitrarily Serialized Simultaneous Adventures: Players can switch between Marinette and Adrien at any time, and the dialogue of NPCs changes accordingly.
- Chekhov's Hobby: At the start of the story, Chloé has picked up taking candid pictures of people, allegedly as part of a school project to "capture the moment". She mocks Marinette and her friends as she does it, but it's eventually revealed that her pictures of others allow her to take on their appearance when akumatized into Clonika, and it is she who impersonated Marinette and her friends, causing the misunderstandings that lead to Tom and Max's akumatizations.
- Kleptomaniac Hero: The 'orb of light' collectibles are real in-universe, and even before finding out that they are useful and safe to touch, the heroes decide to grab as many as possible. (This is in-character for Marinette, however.)
