Mindframe: The Secret Design is an Adventure Game for computers by Mad Head Games released in 2020.

William Rodgers has had the ability to read minds since a medical experiment in college, but he always kept it a secret. But on one day, a madman known as "The Designer" makes demands of him at the potential threat of his life and has knowledge of his abilities. This leads to him going around the city, reading other people's memories to discover clues, and finding some way to end the titular Secret Design.

This game provides examples of:

  • But Thou Must!: You can't choose to apprehend the Designer, since William will just say that he can't let Emilia die.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: The Designer calls him the worst villain in the world when he sees that William is still alive after escaping a sinking ship.
  • Collection Sidequest: Every room has a hidden collectible and a morph to be found as a bonus challenge.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: The Designer, a masked villain, has a very deep voice. He loses it when he takes the mask off.
  • Forced Sleep: Stone's main power gained from the machine is putting people to sleep.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Stone notes that William got powers and he didn't, but he intends to use his blood to get them, indicating jealousy.
  • Hollywood Glass Cutter: The protagonist manages to use a glass cutter to make a circular hole in a glass door.
  • Idiosyncratic Difficulty Levels: Good Listener, Insightful, Empath, Thought Reader (increasing levels of difficulty), and Open-Minded (customisable).
  • Malevolent Masked Man: The assailant wore a ski mask while attacking a driver, while the Designer initially wears a demonic mask.
  • Point-and-Click Map: The protagonist goes to location by tapping them on his smartphone.
  • The Power of Blood: The Designer reveals at the end of Chapter 1 that he needs the protagonist's blood to gain his mind-reading ability.
  • Sadistic Choice: The Designer after being shocked says that William can either arrest him or save Emilia, not both. He ultimately manages to do both, though the arrest is done after the rescue.
  • Shout-Out: One of the stickers found in an album in a meat factory resembles a fairy from The Legend of Zelda games.
  • Sinking Ship Scenario: The ship William is on starts sinking when he tries to save Emilia there. He has to complete a diving suit, open the porthole, and swim out.
  • Sound Test: The Extras menu lets you listen to music from the game or download it directly into the Documents folder.
  • Strategy Guide: Buying the Collector's Edition lets you access the strategy guide that contains a complete walkthrough and collectible locations.
  • Take Your Time: In any timed situation, you can't actually run out of time. Even when Emilia is next to a bomb and you have nine seconds left, it stops at three seconds before the detonation.
  • Tattooed Crook: The assailant who attacked the driver has a tattoo on his arm. The protagonist notices it when he checks the time and realises he's the culprit.
  • Tap on the Head: A victim met early on got whacked on the head. He survived, but couldn't tell much to William because of it.
  • Telepathy: The protagonist has the ability to read people's memories. He often has to put parts of them back together to get the full picture and do it quickly before his power runs out.
  • Themed Cursor: If the option is selected, the game uses a blue cursor with technical bits here and there.
  • Time Bomb: After opening a frozen metal box, William has a band put on his hand. The Designer explains to him that it will administer poison within thirty minutes (immediately if he tries to take it off or tell someone) and he has to go to the small fort at the lake in Central Park. You eventually find out it was a fluke.
