IndestructoTank is a series of Adobe Flash games by The-EXP released through the 2000s and 2010s. In them, you play as Douglas "Dirk" Danger in the Indestructotank and enemies fly around you. They shoot missiles which you take no damage from and take you into the air, then you hit the enemies to gain a combo. The higher combo, the more experience you get. Get enough experience for a level up to increase enemy frequency and refill your fuel. The objective is maxing out all enemy frequencies. If you run out of fuel, it's game over.

This game provides examples of:

  • 20 Minutes into the Future: The games were released mainly in the late 2000s, but the backstory starts in 2027 and the games' events take place in 2049, 2052, and some time after 2053, respectively.
  • Achievement System: Each game has medals that are earned for reaching a combo, beating a mode, or killing foes.
  • Anti Poop-Socking: After unlocking all 18 medals in the second game, you are told to go out and get a hobby of some sort, and most importantly, move out of your parents' basement.
  • Attack Its Weak Point: Each boss has a blue weak point which must be hit to deal damage.
  • Big Head Mode: One of the extras in the sequel is a mode that lets you customise com units head size. It has a big setting.
  • Bottomless Pit: The only things that can kill you, other than running out of fuel, are bottomless pits in adventure mode. Level 3 in the second game is plagued with them.
  • Defeat Equals Explosion: The enemies explode upon defeat, which is a given since they are all mechanical. When shot in IndestructoCopter, they fall to the ground before exploding.
  • Difficulty Levels: The main game can be played on Easy, Normal, or Hard, with each difficulty only affecting fuel depletion rate.
  • Dread Zeppelin: Whizkid uses an airship to attack Dirk with missiles, though the game doesn't make it clear whether he's inside it or at home.
  • Empty Levels: You can keep leveling up in the third game after beating the game mode, but you only get "Keep up the good work!" messages.
  • Forced Tutorial: You can't even click play in the original until you read how to play the game prior to it, which even lampshades this by apologising for the forced tutorial due to the potentially confusing premise. Later games would drop the requirement, though.
  • I Am Your Father: If what he said the end of the second game is true (which is confirmed in the third game), Betton is Dirk's father.
  • Idiosyncratic Combo Levels: In the third game, reaching a high enough combo displays a message at the top of the screen. 5: Keep Going!, 10: NICE!, 20: AWESOME!, 50: INDECREDIBLE!
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: Chief's death in the second game is spoiled casually in the pre-stage 2 dialogue of the third game.
  • Letters 2 Numbers: The second game is Indestruct2Tank, and the third is In3structoTank.
  • Leet Lingo: Whizkid speaks with numbers and leet slang, including the classic "!!1" and "WTFBBQ?"
  • One-Hit-Point Wonder: The third level of adventure mode in the third game tasks the player with surviving four minutes without hitting anything or getting caught in an explosion.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Smart Bomb: The sequels fit the tank with a "nuke" that fills when damaging enemies and clears the screen, useful for ending combos if they go on for too long and fuel starts to run low.
  • Spin-Off: IndestructoCopter is a First-Person Shooter that runs parallel to Indestruct2Tank.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Since the tank self-destructs if it runs out of fuel, Dirk leaving the tank's ignition on in the second game's ending while giving his monologue causes it to explode post-monologue, completely ruining his scene.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: In IndestructoCopter, you can shoot enemies enough that they explode before they hit the ground to earn extra money.
  • Time-Limit Boss: You have to defeat each boss before fuel runs out, which effectively acts as a time limit since it can't be refilled.
  • Video Game Demake: In 2021, the game received an official homebrew release on the Game Boy with some parts of all the original games but mostly the original, rather than just being a stripped-down version.
  • You're Just Jealous: When Dirk calls Whizkid a freak, the latter accuses the former of just being jealous of his awesome intellect.
