Harry Potter: Into The Fire is a MUSH based on the Harry Potter book series, currently taking place in an Alternate Continuity version of the events of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It's still quite new but it has quite a community.
Provides examples of:
- Adults Are Useless: Is Harry Potter not a series that revolves around this during Hogwarts months?
- Broad Strokes: The game uses the Goblet of Fire storyline as a jumping-off point. Notably, the Quidditch World Cup goes off without a hitch- it's the All-Star Cup that gets attacked. And instead of the Triwizard Tournament, there's a Quad-wizard Tournament with one contestant from each house at Hogwarts.
- Celebrity Paradox: This includes one character "played by" David Tennant, who already had a role in the movie- the similarity is not explained, and as the canon character involved doesn't seem to be showing up, it will likely not be an issue.
- Dude Looks Like a Lady: Rene. "Played by" a female. He also happens to be extremely small but fiery. Bonus points because he is also French.
- Fix Fic: Several things have gone better for the good guys so far than in canon: Moody is by
Word of God the real one, Umbridge has been arrested, and Sirius got a pardon. Of course, other things might go wrong in the future...
- Keep the Reward: Ashley plans on donating his winnings (if he does) from the Quad-wizard Tournament to the Hogwarts school fund.
- Make the Dog Testify: Does it count when someone has to turn into a dog as part of his testimony?
- Shout-Out: Several characters are "played by" actors from Doctor Who and act similarly to their Who counterparts. Also, Bean is an Expy of his namesake from Ender's Game.
