Gravitas is a Free to Play first person Puzzle Platformer developed by Galaxy Shark Studios.

The Player Character is the most recent visitor of the Gallery of Refined Gravity, otherwise known as GORG. Here, they must learn to appreciate the gallery’s art by scaling large structures to reach the next level.

You can play it on Steam here.

Since this game can be completed in roughly an hour, so all spoilers will be unmarked.

This video game provides examples of:

  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Downplayed. The Curator wants to trap you inside his gallery forever. This isn’t actually out of malice, but because he wants his art to be appreciated forever.
  • Ascetic Aesthetic: The gallery itself can be described as “full of cubes with rounded edges and the occasional set of lasers.”
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: SHI straight up tells you to right click to delete a beam.
  • Captain Obvious: The GORG reminders SHI constantly presents. Such as not jumping into a sea of deadly lasers.
  • Colour-Coded Emotions: The Curator’s screen changes colours based on his mood. For example, green is neutral, blue is sad, and purple is excited.
  • Companion Cube: Literally. While the Curator is a cube himself, he has appointed several oversized cubes to function as this for you, such as Bartholo-cube, the Wreck-a-hedron, and the cube crossed with gravity surface material. The latter of which detests him.
  • The Ditz: The Curator. For one thing, he installed one-way mirrors in reverse.
  • Door to Before: The last puzzle is directly above where you first enter. You have to shatter the floor to leave.
  • First-Person Ghost: The only thing you know about the pupil is that they have at least one hand.
  • Gravity Master: The pupil can use the AAEA to create gravity beams in specific locations.
  • Heroic Mime: The pupil never makes any noise. The curator tells them they’re never allowed to talk. The irony is lost on the Curator, who gets upset when you ignore him.
  • Just in Time: You manage to escape the gallery just before it explodes, regardless of how long it took you to escape.
  • Laser Hallway: While usually a part of his exhibits, the Curator ends up trapping you with these.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: During your tutorial on how to use the AAEA, the Curator phrases his instructions to emphasize the words “LEFT” and “CLICK” if you want to create a gravity beam
  • Minimalist Cast: Aside from you, the pupil, the only other characters in the game are the Curator and SHI.
  • Off the Rails: The Curator wants you to appreciate his art in the exact order he wants you too. However, the penultimate level has you getting bored and advancing through an accidentally created opening.
  • Perky Female Minion: SHI fills in this role.
  • Rule of Cool: The main reason why the gravity beams are visible and why there are panes of glass everywhere for you to destroy.
  • So Proud of You: Despite wanting to trap you for eternity, he expresses pride that you managed to escape the facility.
  • Unbroken First-Person Perspective: It’s probable that the Pupil doesn’t even have a world model.
