"We don't know his intentions. Neither his thoughts. What we did know, is that he wanted to battle"

"who are you...? you are not the human i know."
Sans to Boyfriend.

Friday Night Dustin', formerly known as Friday Night Funkin' Dusttale: Remastered, is a remake of a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod created by the director of the original mod, WassabiSoja, based on the Undertale AU Dusttalenote .

The story takes place during the events of the original Alternate Universe. After many Genocide runs made by the human just to see if something changes, a tired and broken Sans, who got killed so many times and watched his friends (including Papyrus) die all over again, decides to take matters into his own hands and make his own Genocide run in order to overpower the human and get rid of them once and for all. For that, he needs to kill all of his friends and his own brother by himself before the human does, slowly turning him completely mad. But something, or rather someone, intervenes: a blue-haired boy who wants to rap battle him. Sans agrees, but everything starts to go downhill from there...

A fan-made spin-off for this mod, called Friday Night Funkin' Dusttale Best Friends, made by IceyDuNoir (one of this mod's composers) is on the works, with a demo being released.

This mod's Sans also appears in Friday Night Funkin' Boss Rush, a now-cancelled Crossover mod made by the same creator and directed by AmazeinG666.

Not to be confused with FNF: DUSTTRUST MANIATIC FUNK, a still-in-demo mod based on a recursive Alternate Universe based on Dusttale.

Friday Night Dustin' contains examples of:

  • Ambiguous Situation: While it's true that, besides Sans, the human can also see Phantom Papyrus, despite being Sans' hallucination in the original AU, and while it can be presumed Boyfriend can see him because of Chara possessing him, it's unknown how he exists after Sans' death, since he's supposed to be in his mind.
  • Bilingual Bonus: "Anthropophobia" is the fear of people, fitting for a skeleton who both hates and is afraid of a genocidal human.
  • Bonus Level: After finishing the two current songs in V3, we have a freeplay exclusive song "Homie-Cide", taking place in Dustswap (a hybrid AU of Dusttale and Underswap) with it's versions of Sans and Papyrus as the participants.
  • Death by Adaptation: Girlfriend in the first and second versions of the mod is just as alive as she is in the main game, but in the third version, she's dead and a phantom.
  • Demonic Possession: In V2, Chara possesses Boyfriend after "The Murderer", "Drowning" and during "Anthropophobia" and "Hallucinations". In V3, Chara possesses him from the beginning.
  • Dissonant Serenity: Besides the fact of Boyfriend battling Sans, there's also the fact that both Boyfriend and Girlfriend don't give a shit about Undyne melting during "Red Megalovania" and "Drowning".
  • Elective Mute: Both in Undertale, Dusttale and even in this mod while possessing Boyfriend, The Fallen Human/Chara is shown perfectly speaking despite of Frisk's silence and Boyfriend's Simlish, yet they don't sing at all in "Last Hope" and just keeps attacking Boyfriend.
  • Fearless Fool: Boyfriend, as expected, isn't afraid of challenging a murderous and scary-looking skeleton with bone manipulation, blasters and telekinetic and karmic-related powers despite already having an idea of his dangerousness after the first song.
  • In Spite of a Nail: In V3, despite Boyfriend reaching Papyrus before Sans, Sans still manages to kill Papyrus before Boyfriend due to the latter wasting time singing instead of killing him immediately. Sans even mocks Boyfriend for missing the opportunity.
  • Multiple Endings: Just like in the main game, there's a Genocide and a Pacifist Ending.
    • The Genocide Ending is unlocked if you continually attack Sans in the moments the game tells you to throughout "Anthropophobia", while Boyfriend gets possessed by Chara. This unlocks the song "Hallucinations", in which Sans is killed and the now possessed Boyfriend encounters Phantom Papyrus, Sans' hallucination of Papyrus, and gets completely possessed by Chara just like Frisk, continuing the cycle of killing monsters once again.
    • The Pacifist Ending is unlocked if you don't attack Sans throughout "Anthropophobia" while Boyfriend is possessed. This unlocks the song "Last Hope", in which Boyfriend battles Chara in his own mind, resisting the fate of getting completely possessed and finally putting an end to Frisk's/Chara's killing spree.
  • Nintendo Hard: Between all the gimmicks and the difficulty of the songs, it's safe to say that this mod is not suitable for casual players.
  • Secret Level: In V2, Finishing both the Genocide and the Pacifist endings gives you access to the song "Wounded Shooting", in which you play as a psychotic-looking Pico who battles Sans.
  • Suddenly Voiced: This is the mod that gave Sans actual vocals instead of just his grunting from the original game or any other instruments. As expected, this version sounds like Patrick Star, after the "maybe it's the way you're dressed" meme.
