DON DAVIS!

"Aurunmilla: a gigantic artificial planet treasured by Esh, the wicked emperor of the Perseus universe. The wicked-hearted Esh has launched a diabolical operation to conquer our universe, Orion. Shocktroops led by Orisala have launched a surprise attack on the shuttle base of Orion, and have taken Princess Sindy prisoner. We must rescue the princess. Join us in the battle to defend our Orion universe."

Esh's Aurunmilla was an obscure Interactive Movie game released in the wake of Dragon's Lair's popularity.

It seems Esh, ruler of the universe of Perseus, is trying to take over the peaceful universe of Orion and starts by kidnapping the local princess, Sindy. Fortunately, a sword-swinging space warrior by the name of Don Davis is on the case and infiltrates Esh's base to get Sindy back.

Notable both for its extreme rarity and its amusingly inept dub job.

Esh's Aurunmilla contains examples of the following:

  • Aerith and Bob: The names we hear are moderately space-y. Esh, Sindy, Orishala, but then there's...Don Davis.
  • Dark Action Girl: Orishala. Unlike most villains in this type of games she's competent enough that you actually fight her twice.
  • Dumb Muscle: Don might not be too bright, but he can break rocks with his bare hands.
  • Feed It a Bomb: After Esh turns into a giant monster, he swallows Don and Sindy. They escape by Don throwing a grenade down his stomach.
  • Idiot Hero: He's capable enough, if the player figures out the inputs, but Don's very comical as he faces the various dangers between him and the princess.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: Esh looks all weak and puny, but Don soon learns to regret underestimating him.
  • One-Winged Angel: Emperor Esh turns into a giant cyclops monster when he fights Don for real.
  • Opening Monologue: There are actually two versions with different narrators. The one with the lower voice can be heard in the arcade version.
  • Robotic Reveal: When Don wounds Orishala during their duel, it reveals sparking robot parts.
  • Rock Beats Laser: Don's armed with nothing but a sword, and he's regularly fighting enemies who have far more advanced weaponry, and with the proper input, he's constantly coming out on top.
  • Save the Princess: The goal is to infiltrate the emperor's fortress and save Princess Sindy.
  • Spoiler Opening: The attract mode describes Orishala as an "enigmatic but wicked beauty", but when she first shows up she seems innocent and tries to seduce Don.
  • Super-Strength: Don can perform amazing feats of strength like breaking rocks with his bare hands.
  • Teleporters and Transporters: Don gets from one level to the next by stepping into a teleporter. Just what some of them are doing out there, like in a random forest or desert infested by monsters, is a mystery.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: After Orishala's wounded and runs away, she's never seen again.
  • Word Salad Title: Without listening to the attract mode, players wouldn't know the title refers to the planet/base of operations (Aurunmilla) belonging to the antagonist (Emperor Esh).
