Dragon Force II: Kami Sarishi Daichi ni ("The Godforsaken Land") is the sequel to Dragon Force for the Sega Saturn. Like its predecessor, it is a Real-Time Strategy game involving war among eight nations of the continent of Legendra, with gameplay split between administrative mode and campaign mode. However, there are various new elements, such as Item Crafting, Generals commanding two types of Troops at once, and new types of Troops such as Robots. Although the game was never officially localized outside of Japan, a fan-made translation patch is available.

This game contains examples of:

  • A Child Shall Lead Them: Sanice, the leader of Tradnor after her father's disappearance, is a very young girl.
  • Big Bad: King Grandel of Zeldokia
  • Big Good: Tieris
  • Color-Coded Armies: Each kingdom retains the color that represented it in the original game.
    • Highland/Evers: White
    • Fandaria/Batsu: Gold
    • Palemoon/Renie: Blue
    • Topaz/Shen: Yellow
    • Izumo/Kaede: Purple
    • Bozack/Gangas: Green
    • Tradnor/Sanice: Red
    • Tristan/Adelva: Black
    • Unaffiliated: Grey
    • Zeldokia/Grandel: Mauve
  • Cool Mask: Adelva is always seen with an iron mask covering his face, save for certain endings.
  • Emperor Scientist: Adelva's rule of Tristan has made it technologically superior to the rest of the world, and most of its generals are capable of commanding Robots in battle.
  • Happily Adopted: At the end of Sanice's campaign, Sanice asks Adelva to be her new dad, since both King Lennox and Adelva's family are deceased. He agrees to treat her like a daughter when they're together.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Katmando, an Apostle of Darkness in the original game, now has a humanoid form and becomes Sanice's Robot Buddy early into her campaign.
  • Identical Stranger: Adelva's willing to side with Sanice in her campaign because, aside from getting access to Tradnor's magic, she's the spitting image of his deceased daughter.
  • Interface Spoiler: During the main campaigns, there will be high-level enemies of the Zeldokia faction blocking access to one of the neighboring kingdoms, Railroading the player towards the more plot-important one.
  • Item Crafting: There are now various Mines on the world map, and combining their minerals with owned weapons can lead to new equipment.
  • It's Personal: Adelva will always challenge Olva of Zeldokia when possible, as Olva's responsible for the deaths of his family.
  • Lost World: The Sunken Kingdom of Zeldokia
  • Lovable Rogue: Shen's title is "Master Thief", rather than "Lord" or "King".
  • Mad Doctor: Olva, a masked general of Zeldokia.
  • The Magocracy: Tradnor
  • Mr. Exposition: Frest, once again.
  • New Game Plus: Like in the original game, two kingdoms (Palemoon and Tristan this time) cannot be selected as your protagonists until the game has been beaten once.
  • Not Quite Dead: The remains of Katmando are repaired by Sanice and Adelva. And Scythe and Gaul return to invade the player's kingdom and revive their god.
  • Official Couple: Shen and Kaede, the latter of which automatically joins the former at the start of his campaign.
  • Random Encounters: Unlike the original game, where the only encounters were with units on the map, you can explore Mines in order to trigger fights against Dark Elves and other non-humans.
  • "Risk"-Style Map: The map has changed since the first game, but territory is still conquered in this format.
  • Robot Buddy: There are now Robot Generals that can be recruited into your army.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: The leader of each kingdom will also be its strongest General.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: Tieris, ruler of Palemoon in the previous game, was put into a sleep that requires a spiritual stone and some life force from the current elven queen to reawaken.
  • Talking Animal: Frest takes the form of a talking silver wolf.
