Screen capture of the game in action. You need to spank or prod the pair of fake butts in front of you with the right amount of force as marked on the power gauge on the top, indicated by the gravel. It's harder than it sounds.

Boong-Ga Boong-Ga, also known as Spank 'em, is a novelty Arcade Game and prize machine made by South Korean developer TaffSystem, released in 2001, which simulates the Japanese and Korean prank called kancho or ddongchim, wherein the prankster pokes an unsuspecting victim in the butt.

The cabinet sports a butt which protrudes from the front, underneath the screen. After choosing which character they want to punish (including an ex-boyfriend/girlfriend, yakuza, mother-in-law, and child molester), the player may use either their bare hands to give that butt a spank, or a plastic pointing finger (which comes with the machine) to poke it. The harder you strike, the faster a meter will spin, which fills up a gauge. If the gauge is full enough, the player will be rewarded with either a free extra try, or if the gauge is at a perfect level, the game dispenses a gold-plated plastic trophy/keychain/trinket shaped like a pile of poop. However, if the gauge is too full or not full enough, the game character mocks you instead.

Boong-Ga Boong-Ga contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Asshole Victim: Ignoring the obvious pun, the characters are described as unpleasant individuals, such as a child molester or Gold Digger, so the player doesn't have to feel bad about assailing their rears.
  • Ass Shove: The game is based on kancho, a prank where you stick your fingers into someone's ass. The cabinet has a fake butt into which you're supposed to ram a plastic hand with a protruding pointer finger.
  • Attract Mode: The game features a surreal attract mode which shows Imperial Japan's flag with sakura flowers, random shapes, the in-game characters' freaky faces, a squadron of flying hands with pointer fingers out, and some gameplay footage.
  • Black Comedy Rape: Aside from being a painful and humiliating experience, kancho is also considered a form of sexual assault in the west. The game justifies it as it was marketed to a East Asian audience and having unlikeable characters or criminals on the receiving end, making the game entertaining to the intended audience.
  • Confetti Drop: The victory screen has, amongst other things, dropped red and green confetti.
  • Gold Digger: A red-haired woman is called a gold digger, with an expensive dress and earrings that make her look the part.
  • Gratuitous English: The cabinet has "Have a fun!! Enjoy" written on several spots, and "What the heck...!! It's just waiting for the stress of city life. Give a shot!" on the side.
  • Nintendo Hard: winning the prize requires one to spank or prod the butt with the precise amount of force represented by the gauge shown on the screen. You get at most two tries. Good luck.
  • Obnoxious In-Laws: one of the characters is called mother-in-law, who dish out annoying stock mother-in-law stereotype phrases.
  • Slapstick: The game consists of spanking or kancho-ing a character and seeing their reactions.
  • Toilet Humor: Winning the game rewards the player with a Keychain shaped like a pile of poop.
