Beach Spikers is a sports themed videogame made by Sega AM2 of Virtua Fighter fame for the arcade and the Nintendo Gamecube.

  • Adaptation Expansion: The Gamecube version included eight extra teams to the already existing ones from the arcade edition, bringing it to a total of 16.
  • Cool Shades: Most of the athletes wear them by default, except for in the two stages that respectively take place at evening and night. They can also be knocked off pretty easily, which makes it amusing if one or more of athlete gets them knocked off in one round, puts them back on, and immediately gets them knocked off again in the following round.
  • Hyper-Competent Sidekick: Your A.I. Partner after her skills get better.
  • The Load: Your partner in World Tour stars out like this, before her skills improve.
  • Mythology Gag: In the Character Customization mode, some of the early outfits are the ones the athletes wore in the original arcade game.
    • Also, Team Japan's players being named "Hikaru" and "Naomi" after Sega arcade hardware.
  • Product Placement: In addition to Sega and Nintendo, we have the likes of Nissan, Mikasa, Pringles, and Coca-Cola.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Your AI partner in World Tour as her skills go up.
  • Walking Swimsuit Scene: Well duh.
