Battlestar Galactica is a 2003 Space-Combat Simulation Game developed by Warthog Games for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It takes place in an Alternate Continuity from both the 1978 original series and the 2003 re-imagining, although it's primarily based on the former while mixing in elements of the latter.

Set during the First Cylon War, the player takes control of a younger William Adama as he defends the Battlestar Galactica on various missions against the rebelling Cylons.

Contains examples of:

  • Alternate Continuity: The game is set in its own universe, unconnected to either the 1978 series or the 2003 series.
  • Adaptation Amalgamation: While set in its own universe, the game is primarily based on the original series, with the ship designs being lifted straight of the 70's show and said ships are armed with laser cannons rather than the kinetic weaponry we see in the re-imagining. With that said, some elements from the re-imagining can be seen here, such as Adama's first name being William, and the fact that the Cylons were created by the Twelve Colonies rather than a race of humanoid reptiles.
  • Diverting Power: The player's missile tacks run on a gradient between number and power, and homing capability and blast radius. Use a Macross Missile Massacre on the hordes of enemies, then swap to a single-shot torpedo for bosses.
  • Fantastic Racism: The Cylons REALLY love to remind the players of their desire to exterminate all organics during the in-game dialouge.
  • Guest Fighter: If you input a certain cheat code, you can unlock Apollo and Starbuck as your wingmen.
