A Hole New World is an action platformer developed and published by MadGearGames, initially releasing on May 19, 2017 on Steam, with ports on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. In it you play as the Potion Master, a protagonist tasked with defeating monsters that came from the Upside World with the help of potions acquired from defeating bosses, and their fairy companion, Fäy.
This game has examples of:
- Cumulonemesis: One common enemy are storm clouds that drop icicles on your head.
- Dark World: The main gimmick of the game is that falling down a pit will lead you to the Upside Down world, where the colors are inverted and the Potion Master runs along the ceiling. The UI also flips to be on the bottom of the screen rather than the top.
- Fire/Ice Duo: The boss of Stage 3 is a fire and ice spirit that upon defeat grants the Potion Master the ability to use Fire and Ice Potions in tandoms.
- Shock and Awe: Lightning potions release a pillar of lightning when thrown on the ground.
