Moe Hare does this twice in the same scene: first, after seeing Tommy Tortoise in his rear view mirror, he is lead to believe that the latter is following close behind him and speeds up, only to be surprised to find out that Tommy is actually walking along the back of his car; and second, whilst looking back at Tommy, Moe Hare does not notice that the road ahead is under construction, leading to him crashing into a blockade.
