Actually, I changed my mind. This is not my troper page. This is the page where I explain why Jason Todd and Superboy-Prime would be a really interesting and fun dynamic.

First of all, the obvious. Jason only came back to life because of Superboy-Prime punching a hole in reality. You could make the argument that the specific reason behind Jason's resurrection doesn't really matter in comparison to all the other things he was occupied with (like the Lazarus Pit, League of Assassins, or Batman-Not-Killing-Joker) but I think it should probably matter a lot, actually. Jason came back wrong in a way that it would really throw him for a loop if he found out his entire resurrection was because of one specific dude. Not to mention the sort of weird Power Trip that Prime would have when he realizes that his actions did have at least one lasting repercussion in the multiverse, that despite killing a bunch of people that eventually came back, he did bring back the one guy who almost never did. It would add a really interesting power dynamic between them.

Second, their personalities. In Superman (2023) #29, Superboy-Prime comes back and he's actually funny, charismatic, meta-aware and Genre Savvy. That would really bounce off well with the snarky Jason who would actually be able to parse what he's saying because Jason is familiar with classical novels and tropes. They would be super fun foils! Jason references theater, Prime breaks the fourth wall, Jason recognizes that because that's super common in theater. DUH!! And then you add the fact that despite their similar actions (killing a lot of people) their core reasoning behind that are complete opposites. Prime believes everyone around him in this universe are all just comic book characters so he has a distinct lack of empathy for who they are and what happens to them, which is exacerbated by the fact that everybody he DID kill has come back. Jason is willing to kill, but only criminals he truly believes "deserve it", and he has an extreme amount of empathy for the people around him because he has experienced so much hurt in his own life. They would probably make each other worse or make each other better, depending on the day.

Third, it would create an interesting type of World's Finest that we haven't seen yet. And people LOVE World's Finest. We got Batman and Superman, and Tim and Kon-el, and Damian and Jon, and every time people eat it up like it's glazed with ketamine. Superboy-Prime and Jason creating an anti-hero version of that dynamic would be extremely interesting. They could be the World's Foulest. You could put them in a more supernatural setting (because Superboy-Prime can go between dimensions and shit) and let Jason kill things without feeling bad or having to explain it away later. You could literally just let them fuck around and have fun together.

Finally, they would have something to DO. Jason has been pretty... directionless for while, and who knows what they're gonna do with Prime now that they brought him back from his happy ending. Not to mention that they could either be in a dark, gritty, serious storyline or a fun, lighthearted comedic one. They're versatile! All they need is a writer who cares about both of them and can write them both charismatically (which is a lot harder than it sounds). In any case, NOW is the PRIME TIME FOR PRIME HOOD!

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
