Hello! You've landed on the user page for troper arcana07. Some basic information about her follows:

Who I Am: I'm a confusing muddle, an ancient despite my age, a cynic filled with hope, a disembodied brain in search for emotional contentment, etc. I'm either too much of something or too little of something else, or vice versa.

What My Interests Are: Being a nerdgeek type person, taking things way too seriously, trying my hand at nature-y type stuff, cooking cooking cooking (I seriously derive more pleasure in cooking than I do in eating), hugging my inner Beaker, and failing miserably at social interactions.

What I Like to Listen To: Bolivian goat herder music. No, only kidding. Lots of New Wave, New Romantic, '80s pop/dance, '70s pop/soul, Italo disco, regular disco, disco/funk, post-punk, Scottish punk, yacht rock, modern rock, modern soundscapes, synthy atmospheric goodness, skinny tie music, black eyeliner music, glittery glamtastic music, opera, crooners, big band, little indie bands, little one man bands from the Netherlands, and Metallica, because there always has to be one weird one in the bunch. Well, two weird ones now that I'm into Lordi (why was I not informed of their greatness?).

What I Like to Watch on TV: I'm pretty much down to downloading British TV shows on bittorrent and watching them and watching the occasional Food Network show and enjoying (or in the case of Ina Garten, enjoying mocking) the program. Harry Hill's my main man and I adore the UK Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes universe. I also love dear, gentle As Time Goes By and cliched yet gentle Last of the Summer Wine.

What Movies I Like: Koyaanisqatsi. '80s John Hughes teen flicks. Koyaanisqatsi. Films where the protagonist is shy and withdrawn but is truly, deeply desperate for love and affection. Koyaanisqatsi. Artfully done studies of the human condition. Did I mention Koyaanisqatsi?

What I Like to Read: I *big heart* anything by the following: Lorrie Moore, Oscar Wilde, Robert D. Kaplan, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Iris Murdoch, and Stephen Fry.

My Favorite Quotes: 1. "Pain can be alleviated by morphine but the pain of social ostracism cannot be taken away." - Derek Jarman
2. "Laughter is the best medicine. Unless you're diabetic, then insulin comes pretty high on the list." - Jasper Carrott
