Hello, I'm supernintendo64, except not really because that name was taken by someone else so here I'm supernintendo128. I've been on TV Tropes for about 10 years. I usually do small edits or add entries to existing pages but I make actual work pages every now and then. I brought two tropes to the Trope Repair Shop and opened a clean-up thread for Vindicated by History.
Outside of this site, I'm an introverted, possibly autistic nerd and weeaboo extraordinaire who is trying to be more social. I work as a full-time software engineer at some company that decidedly isn't Google. Sometimes I code for fun. I made a program that can extract hidden CD tracks, and I'm trying to get into game development. My short-term career goal is to get into a FAANG company (or Microsoft).
But this isn't LinkedIn. Outside of work and programming, I like to play guitar, video games, cook, and watch anime. I'm also trying to get into Dungeons and Dragons. I've been playing guitar for about eight years. I have a Les Paul and a Stratocaster. I'm currently learning bass since my grandpa gifted me an old Gretsch bass. I used to be really into classic rock but my tastes have since shifted towards emo and post-hardcore music. My favorite band is Title Fight. I am not in a band right now but I would like to change that.
I love watching anime, but I kept it to myself until recently since my brother thinks that All Anime Is Naughty Tentacles. I've been watching anime since I was 12 when I began watching Sonic X (which imo isn't nearly as good as I remember it, even in Japanese), but I didn't really get into the medium until my cousin introduced me into Dragon Ball Z Kai. My favorite anime are Azumanga Daioh, Bocchi the Rock!, and Chainsaw Man.
Aside from anime, I enjoy vintage TV shows like The Andy Griffith Show and M*A*S*H, but one of my favorite shows is Breaking Bad. I'm currently going through Better Call Saul and I already watched El Camino. I watched a lot of Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network growing up. My favorite cartoon (and still is) is pre-movie SpongeBob SquarePants.
I've been playing video games for as long as I can remember. The first video game I ever played, which remains one of my favorites, was Super Mario Bros. 3. My first game system was a Super Nintendo (hence the username) that a childhood friend gifted me, but my first "modern" game system (and my favorite platform) was a Nintendo GameCube. People often ask me what genres I enjoy, but really I play of genres and I don't like to restrict myself to a certain category. Other than Mario 3, my favorite video games are Persona 5 and Black Mesa. During high school and early college, I wanted to work in the video game industry but changed my mind upon learning the poor working conditions game developers endure. I made a Breakout clone in Game Maker when I was in middle school (unfortunately I no longer have a copy). I'm still interested in making video games as a hobby.
Lately I've been cooking a lot since I live alone and am trying to save money. I have a Hello Fresh subscription and I enjoy watching food YouTubers such as Adam Ragusea and Binging With Babish.
Also I love cats and have owned two. The first one passed from old age, he was 13, the second is still alive and I still have him. I'm thinking about getting a third cat. I am left-leaning and am bisexual.
