Trivia / Zoids: Wild

Go To

  • Bowdlerize: The Netflix dub of Zoids Wild is significantly edited to tone down violence and potty humour that was present in the original show. The final episode features the most significant of these alterations:
    • The context of Arashi's one-on-one battle with Gallagher/Gigaboss is altered. In the original, he asks his friends to kill him if he loses control of his berserker mode and attacks them. In the Netflix dub, he warns them to stay out of the fight so they won't get hurt.
    • Salt/Apex appears to die in battle against Foie Gras/Numb-Lock, and while he is revealed to have survived in a post-credits sequence, his teammates are unaware of this and he is presumed dead. In the Netflix dub this is cut entirely, to the point where Apex and Alpha Shadow are digitally edited into scenes where they were absent originally.
    • After Gallagher/Gigaboss falls into the volcano, he initially manages to survive by clinging to a ledge; Bacon/Quade's spirit appears and offers his hand, but Gallagher lets go rather than accept his help. In the Netflix dub, Gallagher's Spiteful Suicide is deleted entirely, giving him a Disney Villain Death instead.
  • Casting Gag: Of course the voice of Bit Cloud would be brought back, with Richard Ian Cox being given the role of a master Zoid Seeker. But it also doubles as yet another instance of Cox being cast as the English voice for one of Kappei Yamaguchi's roles.
  • Channel Hop: Zig-zagged, the franchise made its anime debut on TBS and Wild is the first Zoids anime to air on MBS/TBS in Japan since Zoids: New Century, however the franchise would hop back to TV Tokyo note  for Zoids Wild Zero.
  • Dueling Dubs: There are two English dubs of Zoids Wild, one for the English-speaking countries outside of Asia and one for Southeast Asia. Both dubs have their merits - the SEA english dub uses the original Japanese soundtrack, has less censorship and preserves the characters and Zoids' Japanese names. The Netflix dub has superior voice acting, dialogue and localization, which allows for some of the jokes to land better.
  • Only So Many Canadian Actors: Richard Ian Cox, David Kaye, Brian Drummond, Michael Dobson, Brian Dobson, Sam Vincent, and Cathy Weseluck are all present, basically making this show an Inuyasha cast reunion. Besides them, most of the rest of the cast was in Beyblade Burst or Zoids: New Century.
