• Disabled Character, Disabled Actor: Like her character Rosie, Ruth Madeley is a wheelchair user and has spina bifida.
• Fake Nationality: Maxim Baldry (Viktor) is not Ukrainian - he has a Russian mother and an English father and grew up in both countries.
• In Memoriam: The series ends with a tribute to Russell T. Davies' partner Andrew Smith, who passed away in 2018.
• Production Posse: Russell Tovey, Jessica Hynes, Anne Reid and Sharon Duncan-Brewster all worked with creator Russell T. Davies during his time as showrunner of Doctor Who with the latter also appearing in Cucumber. Composer Murray Gold had also worked with RTD on Doctor Who and Torchwood.
