• What Could Have Been: As Stackpole conceived of her, Plourr was a Quarren, a squid-faced alien. Somewhere on the way to production she became human instead. She has her own plot arc later revolving around being the rightfully-returning Empress of a human-colonized world, but was that how she was intended? Quarren don't seem to have their own worlds, and later a Quarren is introduced whose plotline is Belligerent Sexual Tension with a Mon Calamari character.
