Trivia / Wipeout (1988)

General trivia:

  • The theme song was called "Peter's Theme", and was composed by Otis Conner. The theme song was, of course, named after Peter Tomarken.

Specific trivia:

  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Reruns of the show aired on the USA Network (then half-owned by Paramount) from September 11, 1989 to September 13, 1991. It's likely that CBS holds the rights now, given how they took Paramount's TV division with them after the Viacom/CBS split in 2005/06, but they haven't done anything with it. Averted for the UK version, which has been rerun plenty of times on Challenge TV.

  • Talking to Himself: For some reason, one episode had Tomarken introducing himself (in third person), although he still thanked Bob Ridgely after walking out. Even more oddly, John Harlan did the fee plugs.
  • You Look Familiar: Lots of contestants were previously on Press Your Luck.
