• Creator Backlash: Various times, but most notably with the 5/4/2016 update, which completely overhauled the beginning tutorial from a rich and lore-filled experience on your faction's respective Arkship (already in itself modified from the launch version) to a .. less rich and much, much less lore-filled experience where your character runs through a simple computer simulation. For once, the playerbase is united in its hate for the new tutorial.
• Creator Killer: Carbine Studios shut down on September 6th, 2018. The greatest loss may be the rich lore and unfinished story the game presented before financial trouble froze its momentum.
• What Could Have Been: The day before the game shut down for good, the Wildstar team released "The Lost World Story," a summary of the direction the overarching story would have taken had it not suffered the decline it did before the Arcterra and Redmoon Terror content drops. The story would have taken players to Omechron's Keep in the Halon Ring, where the Primeval of Logic would design a tool to separate Drusera from the Entity. From there, players would collect the Pureform Essence of all six elements (including a visit to Nexus's "Molten Core"). That done, Omechron would assemble the weapon and the players would use it to open Drusera's can and annihilate the Entity forever. Drusera, now free, would then vanish. Somewhere else, the now-fully-repaired Caretaker would get a call from the "Eldan Armada," saying they will come to Nexus momentarily after receiving the Elder Cube Dominion players accidentally sent to them in Levian Bay.
