Trivia / Von Erich Family

Go To

  • Big Name Fan: Many later Texas wrestlers grew up as fans of theirs, such as Jacqueline jumping at the chance to debut for WCCW.
  • Fake Nationality: Fritz began his career as a German Nazi-esque heel, which is where the Von Erich name originated. In reality, Fritz was, and always had been, a Texas native.
  • Follow the Leader: World Six Man Heavyweight Tag Team Championships in the wake of the success the Mexican UWA had with trios.

  • Name's the Same: Well, almost. WWE's Kaitlyn, real name Celeste Bonin, had previously used the name Ricki Vaughn. Ricky Vaughn was the named used by the wrestler who assumed the name Lance Von Erich (claiming to be Waldo's son, and thus Fritz's nephew and the Von Erich brothers' cousin) before assuming the Von Erich name.
  • Real Song Theme Tune:
    • Kerry is best known for using Rush's "Tom Sawyer". In fact, he took his nickname "The Modern Day Warrior" from the opening line. He also used Blondie's "Call Me."
    • Kevin used Ted Nugent's "Stranglehold"
    • As the Cosmic Cowboys (the tag team of Kevin and Kerry under masks), they used Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson's "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys"
    • David used ZZ Top's "La Grange", Tanya Tucker's "Texas (When I Die)" and Pat Benatar's "Fire and Ice"
    • Lance used John Mellencamp's "Hurts So Good" and the Fabulous Thunderbirds' "Tuff Enuff"
