- Acclaimed Flop: Critics loved it, but the game itself slipped right under the radar. The game sneaked onto store shelves without any promotion or fanfare, so hardly anyone knew about it until it was released for PSN's games on demand in 2013.
- Colbert Bump: While being ported to the PlayStation Network and on Steam are the two cited reasons for the resurgence of interest towards Vanquish, the latter helped in gaining the attention of PC gamers, especially when Let's Play content creators such as PewDiePie played it.
- Creator-Driven Successor: Vanquish is a successor to P.N.03, according to Mikami himself.
- The Danza: Gideon Emery is Sam Gideon.
- Invisible Advertising: Vanquish got advertising in Japan and France, but not America or other parts of Europe nor the rest of the world, due to Sega choosing to promote Sonic Colors instead, which led to this game's rather poor sales.
- What Could Have Been:
- The development blog on Platinum's site details a few cool concepts that didn't make it into the game like Sam having a Robot Dog who can launch missiles at enemies and provide mobile cover. Another having a female android partner who could transform and combine with Sam. The former eventually inspired the character of Bladewolf from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
- The robots get mobile cover robots, much like pets. One of them even turns into a boombox.
