  • Mass Effect: Human Revolution: The Vagrant Story quote " I am the reinforcements." shows up as a Shout-Out to the game.
  • Touhou Labyrinth: Nearly all of the game's Main and Sub Equipment are references to anime and other video games, with their Flavor Text making it more blatant. One example being the Grand Master Breaker Title referencing Vagrant Story.
  • Irritability: Tatanya's gym teacher ("Original character design! Honest!") bears an intentional striking resemblance to Ashley Riot.
  • Unsounded: Duane Adelier is named for and physically resembles Vagrant Story's Commander Duane, having started out as a character when the author role-played as Commander Duane with friends and then built him a backstory that got further and further from the Vagrant Story character.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Callo was originally planned as a playable character.
  • While it's unknown if a sequel was ever actually on the table, in 2020 Matsuno revealed on Twitter that he did have ideas for one that would have involved how the human mind creates false memories to deal with trauma. Some of those ideas got reused in a guest storyline he wrote for Final Fantasy XIV.
    • A few days later, Matsuno posted on Twitter the prologue of those ideas (an English translation can be seen here). In a conversation between Joshua Bardorba and "Jack" the Tracker, Joshua mentions not only Jack having the same ability as his mother but also Jack's other name of "Marco Merlose". This idea seems to have been the basis for Giauque the Chaser in Crimson Shroud.
