• Acting for Two: Bill's mother and aunt were both played by Liz Smith. (They might have been identical twins.)
• Died During Production: The show was Cut Short after Gary Olsen (Ben) died from cancer in 2000.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Eureka Video stopped releasing the series on DVD after Series 3, citing poor sales. As such, fans had to either catch it on a TV channel or otherwise attempt to locate it on YouTube. This has been thankfully rectified with the entirety of the show's release on the British version of BritBox in December 2021.
• The Other Darrin:
  • Jenny was first played by Georgina Cates (at the time still using her real name, Clare Woodgate) and then by Clare Buckfield.
  • Declan was played by Mitchell Ray in his first appearance, and by Alex Kew when he became a regular character.
• What Could Have Been: The show was initially pitched to Central as a sitcom called Hell and High Water and was very different from the final product - Ben was absent from the pitch, with Bill being a widower, and she worked for her brother-in-law (intended to be played by Freddie Jones) selling souvenirs at a seaside town. Rona however was already fully formed from the outset.
