Trivia Tropes For T.U.F.F. Puppy

Trivia With Their Own Pages

  • Acting for Two: The show rarely relied on guest stars with most of the voices on the show being done by the main cast (Jerry Trainor, Grey Griffin, Jeff Bennett, Daran Norris, Maddie Taylor, and Rob Paulsen).
    • Grey DeLisle not only voices Kitty, but also Little Chipmunk Girl. She pretty much does most of the female voices.
    • Jeff Bennett , the voice of Keswick, voices two of Snaptrap's henchmen, Ollie and Larry.
  • Celebrity Voice Actor: Jerry Trainor makes his voice acting debut as Dudley Puppy.
  • Digital Destruction: When the show re-aired on Nicktoons in 2020, Season 1 episodes, which were produced in a 4:3 aspect ratio, were weirdly cropped to 16:9 for whatever reason (similar to what FXX did with early episodes of The Simpsons). This wasn't the case on Paramount+, thankfully.
  • Fake Brit: Ollie talks with a British accent, but is voiced by the American Jeff Bennett. The episode "True Spies" reveals that even in-universe, he isn't really British.
  • Irony as She Is Cast: In "'Til Doom Do Us Part" it's revealed Kitty has a terrible singing voice, unlike her voice actor.
  • Non-Singing Voice: "Monkey Business" has the Hunky Monkies members Bingo, Bango and Robespierre's respective speaking voices being Jerry Trainor, Rob Paulsen and Maddie Taylor, with their singing voices done by Brock Baker, Tim Davis and Luke Edgemon.
  • The Other Darrin: The Caped Cod was voiced by Chris Parnell in his first appearance before Mick Wingert took over.
  • Screwed by the Network: The show began to fall victim to this in its second season. After the 4th episode which aired on October 27, 2012, the show went on hiatus until August 5th, 2013. Then by October, the show was moved to the Nicktoons Network where it finished out its run on April 4th, 2015 and was then cancelled. It did rerun on Nicktoons in an early morning hour slot until it was taken off the air in March 31/April 1, 2016, and briefly returned in August 14, 2016. Then four and a half years later reruns returned to Nicktoons in November 1, 2020 and ran until February 5, 2021.
  • Working Title: "Stud Puppy." The creators quickly realized that it sounded vaguely pornographic.
  • Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: Butch Hartman pitched the show on one drawing of Dudley beating up two cat bad guys. It was actually his least developed idea out of the five he was pitching, but the network liked that one the most, so when they asked if he had an outline for it, he excused himself for two hours and wrote it.
