Trivia / Transformers vs. G.I. Joe

Go To

  • In Memoriam: Issue 10 is dedicated to the memory of comic book artist Herb Trimpe, who was a noted G.I. Joe comic book artist and passed away eight months before the issue was originally published.
  • Shrug of God: Tom Scioli has left it up to the reader on whether Dr. Mindbender's associate Dr. B is intended to be Dr. Adele Burkhart (a minor character in the Marvel Comics G.I. Joe series who was at the center of the plot of the very first issue) or Dr. Biggles-Jones (a Cobra-allied scientist who appeared in the Marvel comic during the five issues that served to set up the events of the Transformers: Generation 2 comic).
  • What Could Have Been: The page layouts for issue 0 and the sketches for when Tom Scioli attempted to complete issue six as part of the 24-Hour Comic Challenge that can be seen in the hardcover collection shows some ideas that didn't make it to the final cut.
    • Duke and Hawk were originally going to be drawn identically as a reference to the characters initially being indistinguishable in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero (Marvel) before they underwent Divergent Character Evolution.
    • The Jugglers were originally going to be revealed to be reptilian shape-shifters who were in cahoots with the Decepticons, referencing a very well-known conspiracy theory about the U.S. government.
