Trivia / Titanic: Adventure Out of Time

  • Blooper: When you look out the window in your cabin and the CafĂ© Parisien, a few icebergs can be seen in the distance. But they're not visible when you look out above deck.
  • Dummied Out:
    • Looking through the quest logs reveals Eric Burns is supposed to have a sidequest helping his wife get on the boat. It implies he would die on the ship, but he's never seen in the game proper after the ship strikes the iceberg.
    • Conversations with Carlson are supposed to allow Penny Pringle to take the evidence off the ship, since the sailors give priority to women and children. But this doesn't actually happen in game.
    • Smethells was supposed to have a final conversation with Carlson before he leaves the ship. While all of the first class stewards perished in the sinking, Smethells doesn't appear during the second half of the game and so his fate is unrevealed.
  • Follow the Leader: The game was released in a period of renewed interest in the Titanic, which ultimately culminated in the release of James Cameron's film.
  • Multi-Disc Work: The game comes on two CDs. Disc 1 contains the prologue and the sinking, while Disc 2 has the majority of the game and the tour.
  • Orphaned Reference: Trask was supposed to have an interest in Oreo cookies, which were actually introduced in March 1912. This was cut, but despite this, there are a few sprites in which he's clearly holding an Oreo.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • After the success of the game, Cyberflix briefly toyed with the idea of a sequel set on board either the Lusitania or the Hindenburg.
    • In the game files, there is unused dialogue in which Morrow announces the early arrival of the Carpathia. This suggests a deleted subplot in which Carlson could alert the ship to start coming north and thus arrive in time to save those on the Titanic.
    • Another set of deleted dialogue has Morrow refusing to let Zeitel, who has the painting, into a lifeboat while letting Carlson in.
    • The game's score was originally meant to resemble the work of Philip Glass before the developers decided on something more appropriate to the time period.
  • Working Title: Titanic: A Journey Out of Time
