- Beam Me Up, Scotty! / Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: The movie's title. People and even TV guides tend to think "Summer" is in the title, even though it's really not.
- Direct to Video: It's even lampshaded multiple times in the movie! Notice how the characters specifically say "video" and not "movie". In practice, it's more like an OVA for an anime in terms of quality.
- Edited for Syndication: Several scenes were cut or shortened down in the four-part televised version.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Took over 20 years for the movie to be released on DVD. Between then, the film was last legally released on VHS in 1998, and the film aired on Kids' WB!, Nicktoons and years later, The Hub.
- Milestone Celebration: Of a sort. In one scene, while looking at a road map, Plucky predicts they'll make it to Happy World Land on April 6, 2021. On that very day, Twitter user Yotome celebrated that, similar to the date of Lisa's Wedding.
- Non-Singing Voice: Averted when Charlie Adler does sing for Buster Bunny. However, Buster's Dueling Banjos musical number was done by Rob Paulsen.
- Also Hamton's father Wade Pig who was voiced by Jonathan Winters, his singing voice was done by Joe Alaskey.
- Working Title: The original title of the video was How I Spent My Summer Vacation. A similar shortening would happen to It's a Wakko, Wakko, Wakko, Wakko Wish.
