- Completely Different Title:
- Albania/Czech Republic/Finland/Netherlands/Poland/Russia: "Jack Goes to Work".
- China: "Jack Joins".
- Denmark: "Jack is Hanging".
- Hungary: "Jack Gets to Work".
- Italy: "Jack is Coming!".
- Japan: "Jack Went Too Far".
- Korea: "Jack, Who Likes to Work".
- Romania: "Jack Joins the Team".
- Serbia: "Jack's Help".
- Slovenia: "Jack Comes to the Rescue".
- Wales: "Work for Jack".
- Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: The Take Along four pack based on the episode curiously includes Mavis, who didn't appear in the episode (even if she does fit the quarry theme).
- Early Draft Tie-In: A video description on the series' official UK YouTube page calls Oliver by his original name, "Buster".
- First Appearance: Of Jack, Alfie, Oliver, Max, Kelly, Byron, Isobella, Miss Jenny, and Ned (the latter of which would be properly introduced in "A Friend in Need", the next episode).
- The Merch: Take Along released a four-pack based on the episode with Thomas, Jack, Alfie, and, oddly enough, Mavis, as well as a "Movie Car" — a van that played slides based on the episode when one opened and shut the doors.
- What Could Have Been:
- Concept Art for Jack gives him a backhoe and stabilisers. These were later removed for logistical reasons — if Jack was digging, he'd have to be facing away from the action, limiting how he could interact with the others while working.
- Oliver was originally called "Buster". This name would later be reused for Buster the Steam Roller in Jack and the Sodor Construction Company.
- Working Title: "Jack Goes to Work".
