- Distanced from Current Events: When the episode originally aired, Pete's line before the blackout was, "Maybe we'll be pre-empted by some national news event. How's Gerald Ford's health?" Ford died less than a month after the episode aired. On the DVD release, "How's Gerald Ford's health?" is replaced with "It's still hurricane season, right?"
