• Throw It In!: At the end of the episode, there's a shot of Scully and Mulder slow-dancing at the Cher concert. As it happens, the camera crews caught David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson playfully dancing during the musical number, and Chris Carter decided that the opportunity to throw a bone to the Will They or Won't They? crowd was just too good to pass up. He also argued that it fits the idea of Mulder demanding "a better ending" for the story—of course a happy conclusion would include lovers united.
• What Could Have Been: Cher was going to appear in the episode but was unavailable due to scheduling conflicts, though she did allow her music to be used along with bringing Canadian comedienne and impersonator Tracey Bell to play her.
