Trivia / The Three Friends... and Jerry

  • Adored by the Network:
    • Nick UK loved it. Not only did it get tons of promotion there, they aired it all the way up until 2010... did we mention the show ended in 1999?
    • This was unquestionably Fox Family's first Network Darling, the show aired weekdays at 5:00 PM for it's first season and mornings on the weekends, got tons of promotion, got pretty good timeslots, and you wouldn't be too surprised to see it on Fox Family magazines.
  • Follow the Leader: Some fans think this show is what happens when you mix South Park with Ed Eddn Eddy and Beavis and Butthead. (Although it came out before Ed, Edd n Eddy, and started production before South Park.)
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Seems to be this in the English speaking world. While the show did get official English DVD releases in places like Australia and South Africa, they are all more than likely out of print and are hard to find. The show is also not on any streaming service in any English speaking country (which is surprising considering it was co-produced in the UK). It used to be streaming on PBS Kids Sprout On Demand, but after only a year, it was removed. Reruns also no longer air so that's a no go. Thankfully, almost all the episodes have been found in English, with the only ones missing being "Kissing Linda", "Bank Robbery", "Ant Hill", "Secret Mission", "Hackers", "Genie in the Glass", "Forbidden Fruit", "Caretaker", and "TV Gossip".
  • Screwed by the Network: The show started to get this treatment around mid-or-late 1999, it was pushed to 2:30 PM (when the intended audience was just returning from school) to make room for Angela Anaconda and The Kids from Room 402. Needless to say, ratings tanked and the show was gone by March 2000.
  • Short Run in Peru: Interestingly despite being a British co-production, the show made its English world premiere in America on Fox Family in 1998, with it making its UK premiere a year later in 1999.
  • Write Who You Know: The Three Friends and Jerry are based on people he knew growing up, as well as Magnus Carlsson himself.
    • Thomas is based on Magnus Carlsson himself.
    • Jerry shared the same name as his real-life counterpart.
