• Approval of God: Kevin Smith says that he considers Homer's line to Maggie "Prove me wrong, Silent Bob!" as a seminal moment in his career as proof that he had "made it."

• What Could Have Been:
  • Harvey Fierstein was supposed to reprise his role as Karl (Homer's assistant from "Simpson And Delilah"), and Homer was supposed to move in with him. Fierstein declined to take part in the episode, however, finding the script's humor to be broad and "lacking that Simpsons' twist."
  • "Weird Al" Yankovic's last line in the credits (That he had fun on the show even if it was just a brief cameo) was originally going to be "Go pee before King of the Hill" (Paraphrase), but they changed that after King of the Hill's timeslot changed.
