Trivia / The Pirate's Fate

Go To

  • Author's Saving Throw: When some reviewers complained about the lack of a preferred route in the expansion, the devs went back and added in an entirely new epilogue route, for free, five days later.
  • Crowdfunder Cameo: Multiple characters submitted by Kickstarter backers show up as either The Cameo or stars of their own side stories, including some by tropers from This Very Wiki!note
  • Development Gag: One route features the art from the earliest build of the game and comments on what was originally planned to be included in the narrative, in the context of a "rough draft" of a magic Portal Book hastily written by Darious.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Tam Tam was originally conceived as a former assassin and master swordswoman.
    • There were a number of transformations that didn't make it into the final game, such as Mila being split into two halves, angelic and demonic, and Darious being turned into a two headed donkey.
    • The Concept Art has different designs for the transformations as well as different ways they would be triggered by characters.
    • The original idea for the dragon transformation was that it would have turned characters greedy instead of making them honest like in the game. The concept art shows that Tam Tam would have undergone this transformation by trying to steal the coins for herself.
    • Leeko would have been the one to use Shape What You Were to change his past instead of Morgana.
    • Mila was originally going to have a "Pragmatic" route, but it was cut for covering largely the same ground as the Empathetic route. "Demon Mila" still made it into the final game, though.
  • Word of Gay: Although all of your fellow crewmembers can be romanced, only two of them are canonically bi: Tam-Tam and Leeko, according to the creators.
