Trivia / The Neighbors (2015)

• Acting for Two: Tommy Wiseau plays both the landlord Charlie◊ and tenant Ricky Rick◊.
• Dawson Casting: Ricky Rick is supposed to be a teenager, but he's played by Tommy Wiseau, who was in his late fifties at the time of filming.
• Defictionalization: Ricky Rick's jacket can be bought from Tommy Wiseau's website. Tommy-branded male underwear would also count, if the whole show didn't look like a Product Placement for them.
• Quietly Cancelled: In 2016, it was announced that there would be a Season 2 of the series. A year later, a trailer for Season 2 was released on YouTube. However, nothing ever came of this.
• What Could Have Been:
  • An earlier version of The Neighbors is known to exist, with a pilot episode from 2007 - carrying the similar characters (with some actors reprising their roles in the pilot), storylines and settings, but with a better production effort. Considering the quality compared to 2015's Neighbors, it seemed like Tommy wasted a perfectly okay sitcom.
  • The original synopsis for the series mentions that "Princess Penelope creates a commotion after she witnesses the ghost of her uncle Prince Charles", and IMDb cast list has Robert Axelrod as Prince George. Neither prince shows up in the series (despite Prince George appearing on the front cover, a billing in the end credits and even appearing on the DVD version of the condo shot), though there is a remark that Penelope's uncle is a ghost.
