Trivia / The Modifyers

Go To

  • Author Existence Failure: The co-creator, Chris Reccardi, died on May 2nd, 2019, finally killing what little chance the cartoon had for going beyond the pilot.
  • Fake Brit: American voice actress Mae Whitman voices Agent Xero, and adopts a British accent when she turns into her alter ego, Lacey Shadows.
  • Name's the Same: Katz has the same name as Katz, the Arch-Enemy of Courage the Cowardly Dog.
  • Stillborn Franchise: Many viewers believe that this cartoon had potential, but the pilot was all they received. The creators expressed a desire to pursue the concept in other mediums, but it never came to pass.
    • There are many theories as to why Nickelodeon never picked the series up. One is that it was passed over in favor of The Mighty B! or Back at the Barnyard. Another is that Nick thought a female protagonist would put it in the Girl-Show Ghetto, and thus wouldn't have a broad enough appeal to sell toys to both genders. The third theory is that the artstyle was too similar to My Life as a Teenage Robot. The simplest theory, though, is that the series was a dramedy with an overarching plot, at a time when Nick favored Status Quo Is God comedies, and such series wouldn't become popular until the advent of Adventure Time (ironically a show that Nick had passed on three times for its more risque content, something rival Cartoon Network had no issue with).
