- Creator-Driven Successor: An obvious one to The Duncan Trussell Family Hour, given how each episode is written around actual audio from the podcast.
- The Danza: Several characters, including the guest stars for each episode, are named for their voice actors. Including Clancy, otherwise known as Duncan, played by Duncan Trussell.
- Meaningful Release Date: The show debuted on April 20th, 2020. "420" is associated with the marijuana subculture, making April 20th an appropriate release date for a psychedelic cartoon. This is brought up during Episode 8, where April 20th is revealed to be Clancy's birthday, and is also the real life birthdate of his voice actor Duncan Trussell.

- Clancy's Mother is voiced by Deneen Fendig, Duncan's late mother.
- Ram Dass was voiced by himself, months after his death in December 2019.
- Screwed by the Network: Unfortunately the series was another one of many cancellations by Netflix after they dissolved their animation division. To make matter worse, Duncan was planning another season until the series got axed.
- Throw It In!: Since much of the audio is lifted from Duncan Russell's podcast, the conversations Clancy has with the various people he meets are entirely this. Though this often results in Fridge Logic when guest characters make specific references to our human culture.
