  • This was the only Compile game distributed by Broderbund, but Compile had previously developed ports of Brøderbund's games A.E., Choplifter! and Lode Runner/Championship Lode Runner for the MSX and/or Sega SG-1000.

  • Fan Nickname:
    • Some fans, not content to use the Guardian's codename for her (and not realizing the Japanese manual gave her the name Miria) have taken to referring to her as Alyssa or rarely as Irem.
    • The game itself is occasionally referred to as "Eyeballs: The Game" because of the many eye-related monsters.

  • Sequel First: More precisely, Gaiden Game first. The original Guardic was a Japanese-only MSX game.
